The Role: Member of Technical Staff (MTS)
As an MTS, you will collaborate with our founding team across machine learning research and product development. You will focus on real-world performance, prioritizing the impact of our models on people's lives over artificial benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on data collection, curation, continued pre-training, ablation studies, evaluations, and supervising the creation of hand-crafted data.
- Optimize models through preference optimization and state-of-the-art reinforcement learning research.
- Contribute to our end-user product by improving user experiences with model advancements and orchestration.
- Utilize the latest language models, ranging from open-source (70B/405B) to frontier models, through partnerships with leading AI labs.
- Read research papers, implement state-of-the-art techniques, and drive core ML research toward aligning language models for long-term success.
- Collaborate on our backend (Kotlin) and ML stack (PyTorch), employing modern tools, including proprietary in-house Typescript solutions.
About You

Requirements:
- Experience: 5+ years developing deep learning models in PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX, including 3+ years in a production environment.
- Language Model Expertise: Fine-tuning experience with models such as Llama.
- Software Engineering Skills: Proficiency in product development languages (React, Swift, Kotlin, Java, etc.) with a strong understanding of modern software architectures.
- Mindset: Fast-paced and pragmatic, capable of quickly proving ideas with MVPs.
- Communication: Ability to explain complex ideas to non-technical audiences.
- Passion: A deep understanding of and belief in the transformative power of deep learning.
